*Activists United ~ Minutes ~ Sunday Feb.3 2002* This week we discussed: I.) Claudio Lefko and the Iraq Exhibit II.) Military Tribunals - Presentation, debate, discussion. III.) Some final details and other requests/plugs. I.) Claudio Lefko & the Traq Exhibit: ~ Please not the following adjustments and changes to the tentative schedule we formulated during our meeting of January 27. These dates and times will be final: 1.) Documentary Viewing: "Paying ther Price: Killing the Children of Iraq." ~ Our finalized date & time for this viewing is *Wednesday, Feb.6th, @ 8:00 in Higley. 2.) The Opening ~ Our finalized date for the Opening of the Exhibit is *Monday, Feb. 11th, from 5:00-7:00 pm. in the downstairs Gallery space in the Horn.* This will give all those with interest a chance to attend a talk scheduled the same night at 7:30 by an Israeli and a Palestinian (both grad students, we believe) on the topic of confilct resolution. II.) Military Tribunals Presentation ~ Presented by Annah, Lucy, & Rita. Debate & Discussion followed. III.) Final Remarks, ETC. 1.) Our next presentation (tentatively scheduled for Feb. 17th) will be on the topic of Poverty & Education (with perhaps a focus on Ohio?), led by Kristin, Dave, & Courtney. 2.) ***Death Penalty Protest*** ~ There will be an anti- Death Penalty protest THIS SATURDAY in front of the Governor's mansion in Columbus. We would really like to have a large and noticeable presence at this protest, esp. b/c of John Byrd's impending excecution date, Feb. 19th. Lucy will be sending out e-mails. PLEASE plan on attending! ***DP Protest, 1:00-3:00, Gov's Mansion, Columbus*** 3.) If you're not yet on the Yahoo Group List, you can get on it very easily (and indeed should do so, as we will phase out the dis-list in favor of this more flexible alternative eventually.) Alley is bringing a band to Kenyon & would like us all to attend: This Friday, at 9:00, in the Horn : *Fairweather*. It promises to be a fuin-filled evening of Indie enjoyment ;) 5.) R.E.E.L. attendance Sunday evening was quite high, thanks to Hannah's plug the week before. There was excellent AU representation. There could be even more. Help Kenyon get sustainable housing.
